FLIGHT

  • SKYSCANNER – Our absolute favorite flight search engine, Skyscanner, provides all the tools to help you find the best options. With its advanced filters, you can choose a multi-city route or, my all-time favorite feature, if you’re unsure where to fly, simply type “everywhere” to see options from the cheapest to the most expensive
  • GOOGLE FLIGHTS – Google Flights is also an amazing search engine. It uses a map feature that lets you search for the best flights from your starting point. With its in-depth tools, if you have flexibility, you can use the date grid and price graph to find the cheapest departure days for your destination.

ACCOMODATION

  • BOOKING.COM – Booking.com offers one of the largest selections of budget accommodations worldwide. In my experience, it consistently provides some of the most affordable options everywhere. Also use-friendly website, and no hidden fees.
  • HOSTELWORLD – This site is our favourite for hostel accommodations, offering the largest inventory, an intuitive search interface, and high availability. It’s my go-to for hostel bookings, as few other competitors offer this level of selection.
  • AIR BNB – This platform connects travellers with private hosts renting out a variety of spaces, from spare rooms to entire apartments, treehouses, barns, houseboats, cabins, tents, and yurts. It’s a social accommodation network offering unique stays directly between two private parties.
  • HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL – Hostelling International unites over 90 Youth Hostel Associations across 90 countries, offering access to more than 4,000 hostels worldwide. Their site lets you easily search and book stays at any of these locations, ensuring quality and community-focused accommodations.

TRAVEL JOBS

  • WORKAWAY – This platform is a top resource for finding work and volunteer opportunities while traveling. It connects travellers with short-term roles in farm stays, homestays, B&Bs, hostels, offering food and accommodation in exchange for volunteer help.
  • WORLDPACKERS – Worldpackers connects travellers with meaningful volunteer experiences worldwide, offering placements not only in hostels but also with NGOs, homestays, and eco-projects. It’s a great platform for those looking to give back while traveling, with diverse options across the globe.

  • PATAGONIA – Patagonia is a leading outdoor brand known for its high-quality gear, from raincoats to backpacks and hiking essentials. What sets them apart is their commitment to sustainability dedicating 1% of all sales to environmental initiatives, ensuring their products are as eco-friendly as possible.
